DVD Master of the Flying Guillotine
image
A decent image, with qualities and lack. First, the format is respected, it's a real 2.35. Then the definition is nice, thanks to a 16:9 format, quite unexpected for this movie. The compression is also convincing. However, the colors are really faded (it looks like B&W from time to time), and the master has not been restored. Some scenes are really awful to watch, with a part of the image being damaged and too dark. Overall, the result is average.
sound
A decent 5.1, using mainly the front speakers. The surround speakers are used mainly for the music.
subtitles
Good english subs, nothing to worry about.
special features
A trailer, some pics.
menus
Decent menus, but nothing special. Same for the cover.
quality/price ration
A decent DVD, especially when you look at the price. That's a good alternative between the US special edition (probably out of print now) and the UK dubbed/cut/framed version.
