A new, less hardcore version of the brand's tool diver.
If the Black Bay is often seen as a cornerstone model of the brand — and it is — Tudor has more to offer in the dive watch segment. In fact, the actual divers in the collection are named Pelagos, a rugged 500m titanium watch with a 42mm case and all the equipment you need for saturation diving. Professional divers have been praising the tool for some time. Recently Tudor came out with a rather special version of the Pelagos, made with the French Marine Corps Pelagos FXD... A focused version built for military divers. Now comes a more versatile, rugged, and "urban" version of the watch that doesn't look like its typical design, but offers a less hardcore approach. Here's a first look at the new Tudor Pelagos 39.
So in terms of positioning, what's the thinking behind this new version? Open the classics, basically there are two classic original models, 41mm Black Bay and 42mm Pelagos. Then came the smaller Black Bay, known as Fifty Eight, and then the military-oriented Pelagos, known as FXD. The new Tudor Pelagos 39 sits in a small window, at least to my eyes; a compact dive watch with traditional features and a more robust and modern look than the BB58. According to the brand, "The Pelagos 39 is a compact and versatile traditional mechanical diver's watch, with sunburst satin-finished inserts on the dial and bezel for a touch of elegance."high quality replica watches
So what is there to know about the Pelagos 39? First, it retains most of the design elements of the original 42mm version, but simplifies some technical features. As a result, the case remains purely Tudor in shape, with strong shoulders and beveled lug flanks. The screwed-down crown is still protected by a pointed crown guard, and the overall look is sure to feel familiar. The same goes for the choice of materials, as this new compact model is still crafted from grade 2 titanium with its characteristic deep shades and satin-brushed finish.
What's new is size. The Tudor Pelagos 39 was originally 42mm and is now reduced by 3mm. The case also lost the helium escape valve and is now water resistant to 200 meters. Thinner and smaller, it's no longer a deep dive watch, but a classic, rugged and everyday wearable. As expected, the top sapphire crystal is framed by a unidirectional bezel made of grade 2 titanium with a black ceramic insert. However, the bezel now has a sunburst brushed pattern and the 60-minute scale (only fully graduated from 1 to 15) is still coated with luminous material. The caseback is solid stainless steel secured with screws.best replica watches uk
Like the rest of the watch, the dials will be familiar, with a few updates. First, the Tudor Pelagos 39 is now a no-date watch. The dial is then updated with a sunray brushed finish on the center and a matt finish on the 45° tapered sandblasted flange - again for contrast and more sophistication. The hands are classic white snowflakes and are fully coated with X1 Swiss Super-LumiNova. If square hour markers are known again, they are now made of monolithic luminescent ceramic composite, a feature that enhances the technical aesthetic while adding to the luminous surface of the hour markers. The final touch is a cherry red glossy Pelagos print at 6 o'clock.
Worn on the wrist, the watch feels extremely comfortable and has a well-balanced proportion. Not only does 39mm fit most wrists, but 11.8mm is also pretty good for a solid dive watch. The 47mm lug-to-lug is also near-perfect for a sports watch like this. The last point is weight. Sure, titanium feels light, but the watch, especially the bracelet, has enough weight and presence so it doesn't feel flimsy or too light. In terms of scale, it's a bit of a home run...replica Richard Mille RM 028
The Tudor Pelagos 39 model is equipped with manufacturer caliber MT5400. Like all of its siblings, its construction is designed to be strong, durable, reliable and precise thanks to its variable inertia balance held in place by a solid transverse bridge plate and two fixing points. Thanks to this balance wheel and non-magnetic silicon hairspring, Caliber MT5400 has been certified by COSC as a chronometer whose performance exceeds the standards set by this independent body. In fact, if COSC allows the watch to run with an average variation of -4 to +6 seconds per day, Tudor insists on a variation of -2 to +4 seconds per day. The movement runs at 4Hz and stores a comfortable 70-hour power reserve.
As expected, the new TUDOR Diver 39 is paired with a matching satin-brushed grade 2 titanium bracelet, which is now equipped with a folding clasp with a T-fit system for quick and fine length adjustments. The system requires no tools and offers five positions, allowing the wearer to make fine, on-the-fly adjustments to the overall length of the bracelet along an 8mm adjustment window. The clasp also features a 25mm diving extension. Finally, a black rubber strap is included with its own titanium pin buckle, its own titanium end links, and a 110mm rubber extension for diving.
