So what is there to know about the Pelagos 39? First, it retains most of the design elements of the original 42mm version, but simplifies some technical features. As a result, the case remains purely Tudor in shape, with strong shoulders and beveled lug flanks. Like the rest of the watch, the dials will be familiar, with a few updates. First, the Tudor Pelagos 39 is now a no-date watch. The dial is then updated with a sunray brushed finish on the center and a matt finish on the 45° tapered sandblasted flange - again for contrast and more sophistication.
