Love and Honor

It is only a short time after Shinnojo is appointed to the post of poison taster that he goes blind. Suddenly losing every peaceful life he has ever enjoyed as well as his samurai position only to live in darkness he decides to commit suicide which is interrupted by his beautiful wife Kayo. Kayo commits herself to become the lover of Shinnojo's superior Shimada in order to have him keep the position as well as their household name. When Shinnojo finds out what Kayo has done out of anger and despair he divorces her. He also finds out that Shimada had deceived Kayo and merely took his pleasure with her. In order to gain back not only his honor but also his love the blind samurai goes on to challenge Shimada who is a renowned swordsman to a duel. The final showdown draws close…
